ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Television’s (PTV) CBA Union Chairman Pervez Bhatti has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, seeking justice for the employees.
According to the petition, the PTV’s administration allegedly recruiting incompetent people by taking bribes worth millions. The petition is set for hearing on June 25.
The petitioner has claimed that the PTV’s Board has become a burden on the national exchequer. “The administration has no business plan,” the petitioner added.
In his petition, Pervez Bhatti has taken a stand against favoritism in the PTV’s board. He further said that the PTV employees are facing salaries issue constantly, however, the board has hired expensive lawyers for this case.
The petitioner claimed that the lawyers – Salman Makhdoom Tipu, Shahid Anwar Bajwa, and Hamid Ali Shah – have been given Rs 6 million each for per day appearance in the court. He further claimed that the seven junior lawyers have been given Rs 1 million each.
In this regard, PTV’s Legal Affairs Controller Nasiruddin Sheikh has confirmed the news and said that they have hired three senior lawyers for this case.
Earlier on June 22, it has been revealed that the management of state-owned channel, Pakistan Television (PTV), was allegedly involved in corruption while incompetent people had been recruited in the channel’s board.
Sources have informed that senior officials of the state-owned channel have been demoted to Officer on Special Duty (OSDs), while, MDs and directors of administration are practically free from their positions.
