ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Rangers personnel in terrorist bomb attacks in Sindh province and ordered an immediate probe into the incidents.
On a social media website, Twitter PM Khan said, “Saddened by the terrorist bomb attacks on Rangers deployed at Ehsaas cash centers in Karachi, Larkana & Ghotki today”.
He further said, “I have asked for an immediate investigation into this so the terrorists can be brought to justice.”

Two Rangers personnel and one civilian lost their lives when a blast took place near a security forces vehicle in Ghotki city of Sindh on Friday morning.
DSP Hafiz Qadir said that Rangers personnel were buying meat in the market when a loud blast took place. He said that the bodies of the wounded were shifted to District Hospital Ghotki.
Heavy contingents of police reached the incident spot and cordoned off the area. Police collected evidence and started an investigation.
The deceased Rangers personnel were identified as Zahoor Ahmed and Fayyaz Ahmed and the passerby as Ghulam Mustafa. Rescue workers have shifted the wounded to hospitals. The nature of the blast was still being ascertained, police officials said.
Separately, a blast occurred near a center of the Ehsaas Program in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area on Friday leaving one person and six others injured. Contingents of Police and Rangers have reached the site of the incident and are conducting an initial investigation.
Bomb disposal squad has also reached the site of the incident and said that the blast was an improvised cracker device. Superintendent Police (SP) Liaquatabad said that the incident occurred in Liaquatabad No. 10, where the center was disbursing cash among the needy.
According to the policeman, a Rangers officer was also wounded in the attack and a vehicle of the security forces parked nearby was also damaged. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has taken notice and called Inspector General Sindh to get complete details about the incident.
He said the provision of security at the Ehsaas centre was the responsibility of the police and no lapse will be tolerated in this regard. He said the IGP Sindh should take action and arrest those responsible for the unfortunate incident.
