ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has said the government has launched a complaint management system to resolve issues faced by health workers in the country.
Addressing a press conference after a National Command and Operation Centre meeting in Islamabad on Friday, Zafar Mirza said the Complaint management system will address grievances of healthcare workers on a priority basis.
The special assistant said that when a complaint is lodged, the staff will determine which province the complaint is from and its category and then it will be forwarded to the government’s focal point in that province.
Zafar Mirza informed that health workers can call on 1166 or message through WhatsApp on +923001111166 to register their complaint. He highlighted that the staff will also inform workers regarding the status of their complaint and how it has been resolved.
The government has taken steps to facilitate the healthcare workers as they are on the frontline to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, he added.
Mirza said that the government has already prepared a special package for the medical staff workers, who are performing their duties to fight against the COVID-19.
He said the package would entail financial help, protection and training for healthcare workers, while those who died on duty while be given compensation through the ‘Shuhada package’.
The special assistant said that the SOPs need to be thoroughly followed in order to remain safe and curb the spread of the COVID-19.
He warned people that things can get much worse if precautionary measures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are not followed.
