KARACHI: Suspended Senior Director of Human Resource Management (HRM) at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Jameel Ahmed Farooqui has been reinstated without an inquiry on illegal recruitments.
On June 3, Jameel Ahmed Farooqui had been suspended in the wake of the inquiry on illegal recruitments in the department by him.
According to the notification, Jameel Ahmed Farooqui had been directed to immediately report to the Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department. Orders had also been issued for a transparent inquiry into the matter.
Sources said an inquiry committee was constituted in this regard however, no recommendations have been made by the inquiry committee nor has it been mentioned in the notification of reinstatement from suspension.
Regarding the reappoint of Jamil Farooqi sources disclosed that after settling the issues of recruitment, Jamil Farooqi got a clean chit without any report against him by the inquiry committee.
Sources also said that corruption is rampant in the local government department due to the continuous patronage of illegal measures by the Sindh government officials.
Earlier on June 2, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar had terminated 20 employees of a medical and dental college in Karachi.
The officers were sacked on the suggestion of the inquiry committee probing the institute on corruption and misuse of power allegations. Those that had been dismissed include officers ranking from grade 1 till 16.
