RAWALPINDI: Renowned actor Tariq Malik who contracted the novel coronavirus has died today of cardiac arrest.

Tariq Malik is a well-known face to state-run Pakistan Television (PTV)’s sitcom ‘Guest House’. He was diagnosed with coronavirus a week ago, however, he died today due to heart failure.
Guest House was the immensely popular comedy, based on 52-episodes that aired on PTV in 1991. Among Tariq Malik, others in the cast included Khalid Hafeez and Sarwat Attique (Mr and Mrs Shameem), and Khalid Hafeez.
Moreover, actor and screenwriter Vasay Chaudhry had tested positive for coronavirus last week. Along with him, singer Abrar ul Haq also contracted the deadly virus that has affected more than 119,000 people across the country.
