KARACHI: Illegal secret centers for coronavirus patients have been set up in private bungalows in Karachi, sources revealed on Wednesday.
According to sources, illegal centers for COVID-19 patients have been set up secretly across the city.
Sources further disclosed that under the supervision of a private hospital the illegal centers had been established at Dhoraji, Nazaimabad and Lal Qila bungalow No-B24. “Theses illegal centers are a great risk to the health of the surrounding resident”, sources added.
On the other hand, the residents of the area complained “No one is ready to shift these centers from the residential areas and we are being intimidated by the police”.
Aga Khan Hospital’s staff and paramedics as well as Sindh police are performing duties at the centers in these private bungalows.
Sources further said the Aga Khan Hospital administration allegedly took large sums of money from the COVID-19 patients and their families while the patients are being treated nominally.
“Private hospitals are receiving huge sums of money while putting others lives into risk”, sources added.
The police personnel stationed at the bungalows are of the view that they have been posted here on the instructions of the district administration, deputy commissioner and assistant commissioners.
Residents of the areas have appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Army Chief to take notice of this ominous situation.
