LAHORE: Accountability court has issued a written order to summon Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
The accountability court judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry issued a three-page written decision to summon the PML-N leaders in the same case. As per the written verdict, due to the non-appearance of the accused, the criminal proceedings have been delayed for a long time.
The Superintendent Jail and SP Headquarters are directed to present Hamza Shehbaz at the next hearing in any case, as he has not been produced even today due to security measures.
The court also directed Shehbaz Sharif to appear on June 11 for criminal proceedings. Earlier on Friday, the Lahore Accountability Court resumed hearing the Ramzan Sugar Mills reference.
Hamza Shahbaz was not presented in court on this occasion due to coronavirus fears while Shehbaz Sharif decided to skip the hearing.
Earlier this week, Shehbaz Sharif’s pre-arrest bail was approved by the LHC. The move came one day after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team raided the residence of the PML-N leader to arrest him in multiple corruption cases related to money laundering and assets beyond known sources of income.
