KARACHI: Actress Mahira Khan has revealed that she has never endorsed fairness creams since the start of her film career.
Recently in a tweet, Mahira wrote, “Been refusing ever since I was a VJ till now. Never endorsed a skin lightening product.”

Moreover singer Momina Mustehsan, also claimed how she has always turned down the offers of endorsing fairness cream.
“Same here. Always turned down all fairness product endorsements. The amount of melanin in your skin has nothing to do with how beautiful you are. If we ALL responsibly refuse whitening endorsements, it might cause a shift in the market. We have the power to change the narrative,” she said.

She also urged people to act responsibly to cause a shift in the market. Extreme use of fairness creams can rather lead to severe skin damage.
Fairness creams contain harmful bleaching agent such as hydroquinone, mercury, lead, nickel, chromium and high levels of steroids that cause thinning of skin.
