KARACHI: Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Sindh police claimed to have arrested three criminals for allegedly selling out spare parts of motorcycles stolen from different parts of the city.
According to AVLC officials, on a tip-off, an AVLC police team conducted a raid in the Malir and apprehended three suspects who were allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of the city.
Citing their crimes, police said that the accused use to sell out spare parts of the stolen motorcycles in different markets in the city. They were identified as Noor, Riaz and Amir. The police also recovered stolen motorcycles from their possession.
Earlier, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell of the Sindh police had nabbed four suspects for their alleged involvement in vehicle theft from various parts of the city.
According to SSP AVLC, one of the accused involved in snatching motorcycles was arrested with the help of CCTV footage from Korangi.
SSP further said that the AVLC had conducted a raid in the Jamshed Town area of the city and nabbed three people for their alleged involvement in car-theft incidents in the city.
On April 20, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh police had claimed to arrest four alleged criminals of Lyari gang war from Pak Colony area of the metropolis.
According to a spokesman for Sindh police, on a tip-off, an SIU police party had conducted a raid in a house in the Pak Colony area and arrested four alleged gangsters, Muhammad Anwar alias Gojh, Majid alias Kalu, Muhammad Sohail and Anwar.
The police team also claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and weapons including, two hand grenades, one Kalashnikov with 10 rounds, one TT-pistol with 10 rounds and other explosive materials from their possession.
