LAHORE: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged past 42,125 after 1,974 new cases emerged in several areas across the country.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), around 30 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 903.
However, the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in COVID-19 cases. Sindh remains the worst affected province from coronavirus with 16,377 infections.
Punjab government reported fresh cases of the coronavirus in the province taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 15,346. A partial lockdown has been imposed across the province to stem the spread of the infection.
There are 2,692 confirmed cases in Balochistan so far. The confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surged to 6,061 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There are 540 coronavirus cases in Gilgit-Baltistan. The government in the region had imposed a curfew to stem the spread of the disease.
There are 112 cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. There are 997 cases in Islamabad while three patients have recovered so far.
