KARACHI: Another child suffering from rabies after being bitten by a stray dog in Larkana, died on Wednesday at the Indus Hospital Karachi.
According to the sources, a nine-years-old Zeeshan was bitten by a stray dog in Larkana on April 8, and his parents brought him to Government Hospital Larkana, where anti-rabies vaccine was not available.
Later, the child was brought to Karachi for treatment. Today, the child breathed his last at Indus Hospital in Karachi.
On March 2, a four-year-old dog-bite victim had succumbed to his injuries in Sukkur hospital allegedly after the doctors failed to administer him the anti-rabies vaccine on time.
As per details, a four-year-old Hidayatullah, a resident of a village in the Saleh Pat Tehsil in Sukkur District was attacked and injured by stray dogs in the areas.
The injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
However, Hidayatullah’s uncle Alam Abu Poto had alleged that the boy died because the hospital staff failed to administer him dog-bite vaccination even after three days of admission. He had demanded of the authorities to take the notice of the incident and investigate the matter on a merit basis.
On 2 January, a 13-year-old from Shikarpur had bitten by a mad dog. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center in Karachi for treatment, where he had succumbed to his injuries.
