KARACHI: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan offered condolences over the loss of precious lives in Balochistan due to coronavirus. He also expressed hope that Pakistan would achieve success against the pandemic.
PM Khan said that the federal government was helping out the Balochistan government in the battle against COVID-19.
He said that Centre would extend every help to Balochistan government to provide relief to the people of Balochistan. PM said that government was taking measures to accelerate economic activities in the country amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the biggest challenge for his government was to provide relief to the common man during the COVID-19 lockdown. He said that the Tiger Force would play a essential role in helping out the people stuck in epidemic crisis.
He said the government is paying extraordinary attention towards daily wage earners and is dedicated to widening the scope of their social protection. The government has formed an economic task force to check and control economic effects due to the coronavirus outbreak, PM Khan added.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said that parliament should play its role in this critical time. He said it was need of the hour to show unity against COVID-19.
He said Pakistan was confronted with the twin challenge of saving lives and containing the COVID-19. Sanjrani urged the nation to fully assist the government by following all required protective steps to overpower coronavirus spread.
