ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Syed Shibli Faraz has said that PTI-led federal government firmly believes in the fundamental, constitutional and legal right of freedom of expression.
In his message on World Press Freedom Day, he took to Twitter and said that the federal government will provide all possible facilities for the promotion of independent and responsible journalism.

The Newly appointed minister further said that a responsible press plays an important role in the development of a society.
In another tweet, he said that freedom of expression is the foundation of a civilized democratic society and a fundamental human right.
آزادیِ اظہار مہذب جمہوری معاشرے کی اساس اور انسان کا بنیادی حق ہے۔یوم آزادی صحافت کے موقع پر قلم کی حرمت کیلئے لازوال قربانیاں دینے والے صحافیوں کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہوں۔شہدائے صحافت کو سلام جنہوں نے اپنے لہو سے حُریت فکر کی شمع کو فروزاں رکھا۔

Syed Shibli Faraz applauded the immense sacrifices rendered by the journalists for the sanctity of the pen.
World Press Freedom Day is being observed today (Sunday) around the world including Pakistan today Sunday. This year the theme is “Journalism without Fear or Favour”.
In a video message on the World Press Freedom Day, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, “Journalists and media workers are crucial to helping us make informed decisions.”
