KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid a rich tribute to doctors and other health care providers fighting on the frontline in the battle against the coronavirus epidemic.
Bilawal expressed his emotion during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Medical Associations (PMA). Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, provincial health minister and other officials were also present in the meeting.
On this occasion, PMA informed the PPP chief about problems being faced by the doctors. Bilawal assured government’s support for addressing genuine grievances of doctors treating patients of the COVID-19 across Sindh province.
He further said Sindh government was well aware of problems of the doctors and paramedical staff. He appreciated the paramedical staff, doctors and nurses for playing front line role in treating the patients in the province.
Bilawal said Sindh government is determined to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the province, adding that the provincial authorities are fighting to control the prevailing situation.
He said lack of medical protective equipment and ventilators could sabotage the govt’s ongoing efforts and measures taken against the Covid-19.
He said this was the first time the world was facing a pandemic like coronavirus and there was a need to rise above race and colour to fight this outbreak.
