KARACHI: Corruption has been revealed in Ramazan price lists of edible items under the patronage of Commissioner Karachi and Secretary local government.
According to details, the officials of the Bureau of Supply Sindh, District Administration and Market Committee are profiteering from the illegal selling of Ramazan price lists.
According to the provincial administration, it is the responsibility of the Bureau of Supply to provide a list of edible items to the vendors free of cost.
However, the vendors have claimed that the officials are receiving Rs 15 per price list despite collecting heavy taxes. The vendors also said that the Bureau officials are claiming to have orders of Sub-Commissioner Karachi and Secretary Local Government in this regard.
Sources have claimed that through illegal selling of Ramazan price lists, the officials have made almost Rs 6.7 million.
Sources further claimed that the Bureau of Supply Sindh is collecting Rs 225,000 per day from the alleged sale of food price lists.
Sources also claimed that Assistant Director of Bureau of Supply Sindh, Ali Haider and Deputy Controller Rehan Khan, are involved in the corruption, while their patron is Director Bureau of Supply, Javed Qaim Khani.
