KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has informed that the number of coronavirus infections in Karachi jumped by 446, taking the city’s tally to 4,873.
CM Murad Ali Shah in a video statement today (Friday) informed that almost 3,384 tests of coronavirus were conducted in Sindh during the past 24 hours, out of which 662 came positive.
He further said, “This brings the total number of coronavirus infections in Sindh to 6,675, which means that nearly 20 percent of the tests conducted during the past 24 hours came positive.”
Referring to the statistics for Karachi, CM Sindh informed that 446 cases have been reported in the city out of which 173 emerged in Malir, 92 in District East, 70 in District South, 56 in District Central, 33 in District West and 22 in Korangi.
Commenting on the coronavirus deaths, CM Murad informed that six new deaths were reported in the province during the past 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 118.
He also informed that almost 57,761 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the province till now, adding that out of which 6,675 have come back positive.
Commenting on the stranded nationals, he said that 483 Pakistanis had arrived at Jinnah International Airport from Dubai, Sharjah, and Colombo.
“Out of these, 190 passengers tested positive; 92 belong to Sindh, 56 to Punjab, 24 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 18 to Balochistan,” he concluded.
