KARACHI: A University student has prepared a kit for coronavirus testing having the capacity to conduct 20,000 tests on a daily basis.
A student named Irfan Hussain from the Quaid-e-Azam University based in Islamabad has claimed of developing the kit for coronavirus testing that has a capacity to conduct 20,000 tests on a daily basis.
According to Irfan Hussain, a test with the newly developed kit will cost less than Rs200. The detail of the kits has already been shared with the National Institute of Health (NIH). The official announcement regarding it will be made soon.
Pakistan has reported 15,759 confirmed coronavirus cases with the death toll of 346. According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 874 cases of coronavirus were reported while 19 people died in the last 24 hours. As many as 4,052 patients have recovered from the disease in the country, while 153 are said to be in critical condition.
According to details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted.
