ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the ‘Green Stimulus’ package today (Tuesday) in order to extend green cover in the country and to create job opportunities, especially amid coronavirus.
While chairing a meeting on climate issue, PM Imran said that enhancing green cover of the country was among the topmost priority of the incumbent government.
Commenting on the job employment, PM Imran said that the package, especially the Green Nigehbaan initiative, would offer employment opportunities to the youth and also 65,000 daily wagers.
PM Imran has also directed the concerned authorities including provincial governments and international bodies to engage and enhance the scope of the program and create additional jobs.
The premier also directed Climate Ministry to formulate a plan of action for engaging the international community under Debt for Nature Swap program.
“Transparency and community participation must be ensured for success of the program that promises better future for our coming generations,” PM Imran added.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for establishing national parks across the country as a step towards promotion of Green & Clean Pakistan.
