ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday paid surprise visits to a number of mosques in Bara Kahu area of Islamabad and reviewed the precautionary steps during prayers and Taraweeh.
According to details, the president along with Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan, visited Jamia masjid Ghousia Simly Dam road, Jamia Masjid Shama-e-Risalat, Begum Masjid Bara Kahu and Masjid Anwar-e-Madina Ahmed town.
On the occasion, the president urged that implementation of preventive steps were must be adopted to control the spread of coronavirus infection. He said that self-discipline should also be observed in mosques during the prayers.
On Saturday, President Dr Arif Alvi had visited different mosques in Rawalpindi and reviewed the precautionary steps to control spread of COVID-19 during prayers and Taraweeh.
According to a press statement, the president visited the Gulshan Dadan Khan mosque, jammia mosque at Murree road, Ghousia Saddar, Moti masjid Liaquat road and Noorani mosque.
Later, President Dr Arif Alvi in a letter addressed to prayer leaders in the federal capital, had expressed his satisfaction over the implementation of 20-point guidelines for prayers and congregation during Ramazan.
The president had observed that it was a matter of satisfaction that Mosques’ administration ensured implementation of these points, besides taking precautionary measures.
