ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has asserted that Pakistan has enhanced the capacity to bring back seven thousand stranded nationals from abroad every week.
Addressing the United States-based Pakistanis through video link today (Saturday), FM Qureshi assured the people that this figure will increase in the coming week.
FM Qureshi further said that it was the government’s topmost priority to bring back all the registered – sixty thousand – stranded nationals before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Referring to poor segments of society, FM Qureshi said that the federal government has taken the initiative to protect the poor segments of society.
The foreign minister also praised the overseas Pakistanis for donating in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Relief Fund for coronavirus and said that the support for the relief fund was also encouraging.
FM Qureshi also thanked the Pakistani community in the United States for playing a vibrant role in helping Pakistan. He said that the entire Pakistani nation is grateful to the contributions made by the Pakistani American during difficult times.
Commenting on the coronavirus, He said that the novel coronavirus respects no borders, adding that collective efforts were required to deal with this unprecedented challenge.
