ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed deep concerns over the discriminatory and anti-Muslim policies of the RSS inspired Indian government.
In a weekly news briefing today (Thursday), Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui has regretted that anti-Muslims policies persist regardless of the challenge raised by coronavirus pandemic.
Aisha Farooqui also highlighted that a systematic campaign was unfortunately underway in India to demonize Muslims – who were already facing the threat of mob violence.
She said, “The Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) has also raised voice over the anti-Muslim policies of Indian government and Islamophobia.”
Aisha Farooqui also said that Pakistan was concerned over the increasing persecution of journalists in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) on baseless and concocted charges.
Commenting on overseas Pakistanis, the FO spokesperson said that the Foreign Ministry and the missions abroad were providing relief and assistance to the overseas Pakistani community amid coronavirus. “Food ration and financial assistance are also being provided to those in need,” the FO spokesperson.
She further said, “Repatriation of Pakistanis stranded abroad is continuing as per the decided plan developed with the coordination of concerned authorities.”
The FO spokesperson also said that almost 5,079 Pakistanis have been brought back from different countries in the third phase of this plan.
“Additionally, 1,254 Pakistani nationals have been brought back through land borders in the last few days including 41 from India through Wagah border,” she concluded.
