ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Ehsaas Telethon would be telecasted live on Thursday to collect funds for those affected from COVID-19 lockdown in the country.
The telethon will be aired live on Pakistan Television network at 4:00 pm on Thursday. In a special video message, the prime minister urged upon the people to join hands with the government in fighting the challenge of COVID-19.
PM said the government was spending money to help COVID-19 lockdown affectess, however, they need more money to cater the rising numbers.

Earlier, PM imran Khan said that the Pakistani nation always faced every challenge with enormous courage and commitment. The PM said that the nation always supported the vulnerable segments of the society generously in testing times.
On April 1, Prime Minister Imran Khan had urged the nation to generously donate in the PM’s coronavirus epidemic Relief Fund set up to fight against the disease.
On a social media website, PM Imran had said this fund will be used to take care of all those who have been made impoverished by the lockdown due to epidemic.
Pakistan reported 212 deaths from the novel COVID-19 while the total number of cases has surged to 9,749 on Wednesday.
According to National Command and Control Center, more than 533 cases of COVID-19 were reported while 17 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 2,156 patients have recovered from the disease; however, the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the coronavirus cases.
