ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has launched a mobile application, ‘FM Direct’, for a direct digital connection between him and all officers of the Foreign Ministry both at the headquarters and missions.
Addressing the launching ceremony in Islamabad today (Friday), FM Qureshi said that the app would provide an opportunity for each officer to reach out to the Foreign Minister directly.
FM Qureshi further said that the app was a result of out of the box thinking, adding that the digitization of the Ministry would introduce a prominent change in ethics and work culture.
“The mobile application has been introduced during COVID-19 pandemic, in cognizance of the critical importance of interactive and responsive multi-stakeholder coordination and dialogue,” he added.
The foreign minister also said the step under ‘Vision FO’ aimed at promoting a macro vision, digital landscape and a transparent way of communications.
FM Qureshi also acknowledged the contribution of Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in helping the launch of application.
The foreign minister assured that the “Crisis Management Cell” was working 24 hours at the Foreign Office for timely dispersal of information to focal personnel designated in Pakistani embassies all over the world amid coronavirus pandemic.
