ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved enhancing the upper limit of loans received under the ‘Kamyab Jawan’ programme for youth to invest in large businesses.
The approval was granted during the prime minister’s meeting with Finance Adviser Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Tuesday.
This will allow budding entrepreneurs to receive a loan up to Rs25 million instead of five million rupees. The prime minister also decided to reduce the markup rate from eight percent.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said that young entrepreneurs will be encouraged more as soon as there is a relaxation in lockdown.
He said youth is a precious asset of the country and the government will invest more in them, adding that young people have a greater role in strengthening the country’s economy.
