KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has turned down the perception of Pakistan having less number of COVID-19 cases as compared to the rest of the world.
While addressing a press conference at the Auditorium of the Sindh Assembly building, the chief minister said that the perception that the country has fewer COVID-19 infections is wrong.
He said that almost ten percent of the total tests conducted turn up positive so it is wrong to perceive coronavirus is spreading slowly in the country. “We are concerned about increasing the number of infection cases in Sindh,” he said.
Regarding the measures of following the Standard Operating Procedures, he warned that strict action will be taken against all those sectors who will not follow the SOPs laid out by the government. He added that tailors, mechanics, and barbershops will remain closed until 30t this month.
Murad Ali Shah earlier announced to hold an important press conference today regarding the coronavirus lockdown to discuss the provincial government’s line of action.
The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s in Sindh, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA)s, Civil Administration, doctors, representatives of the World Health Organization and UNICEF also attended the press conference.
