ISLAMABAD: A man who claims to be connected with the Ministry of Interior and Prime Minister’s Office has allegedly been using the position to gain favours for a housing society in Islamabad.
Ayab Ahmed has been using the connection claiming to be linked with government officials to reinstate Naseem Anjum, a senior vice chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Cooperative Housing Society (JKCHC), who had recently been dismissed from his job. Ayab reportedly received a payment of five million rupees from a person named Aurangzeb to reinstate Naseem Anjum to his position.
Well-informed sources informed that Ayab claims to be related to the interior minister and a close friend of a bureaucrat posted at the Prime Minister’s Office. He is usually present in the municipality where several matters are discussed in full knowledge of the district administration.
The source revealed that Ayab held a meeting with Aurangzeb at the office of a local administration official where it was decided to reinstate Naseem Anjum. The housing society’s chairman, Ziaullah Shah, and General Secretary Sabeel Mumtaz were served contempt of court notices.
A few days ago Naseem Anjum was reinstated to his position along with his membership in the housing society. He was dismissed from his position over corruption allegations. The Registrar of the housing society refused to comment when asked about the reinstatement of the terminated vice-chairman.
