ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Prime Minister Imran was personally monitoring the process of cash distribution.
The statement came during her visit to a cash distribution centre in Islamabad today (Saturday). She said that efforts were being made in order to facilitate the deserving people.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Ehsaas Cash Emergency Programme was the reflection of PM Imran’s feeling for the labour, working-class and the poor segments of the society.
She further said that the programme was the vision of PM Imran to set up a welfare state in line with the model of State of Madina.
Firdous Awan said that Islam teaches to respect the human rights and protection of vulnerable segments of the society and this programme was a manifestation of those feelings for the poor.
Giving details on the programme, she said that almost 12 million deserving families were being provided cash assistance and so far over 8,15,000 deserving families have been provided with the cash assistance.
In this regard, she further said that transparency has been ensured in the programme and no money has been wasted on advertisements. She also informed that 27 centres have been set up for distribution of cash grant in Islamabad.
She appreciated the philanthropists for contributing in PM Imran’s Corona Relief Programme and also thanked the volunteers in helping the government for distributing rations.
The Special Assistant also urged the people of Pakistan to take precautionary measures and practice social distancing in order to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
