KARACHI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled drug smuggling attempt worth seven billion during an intelligence based operation on Saturday in Karachi.
According to the ANF spokesman, Anti-Narcotics Force conducted a joint intelligence-based operation at Port Qasim International Container Terminal in Karachi.
The spokesperson further said the forces seized a huge cache of drugs, including 700 kilograms of high-grade heroin and 80 kilograms of opium, cocaine in the operation.
The smugglers have been booked under a pseudonym which has been traced back to a resident of Sahiwal, Punjab, the spokesman added. The drugs were handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal formalities.
On April 3, Pakistan Navy along with the officials of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had seized 100 kilograms of heroin during a sea operation.
According to the provided details, Pakistan Navy and the Anti-Narcotics Force conducted a joint intelligence-based operation at Pishukan near Jiwani, Balochistan.
In this regard, a Navy spokesperson informed that forces seized a huge cache of narcotics, including 100 kilograms of ice-drug in the joint operation.
The spokesperson further informed that a PMSA vessel had approached a suspicious fast speed boat of suspected smugglers and seized the drugs and then impounded the boat.
