LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar hassaid that frontline workers of the coronavirus epidemic will receive ‘martyr package’ in case they die after contracting the COVID-19.
On a social media website twitter, the CM paid rich tribute to the frontline workers and professionals, adding that should, “We cannot repay their dedication but we will give them allowance equivalent to salaries and should, God forbid, they die then they will be given martyr’s package”.
CM Buzdar further said despite an international and local shortage, Punjab Government was providing safety equipment to healthcare workers, as per World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
“Indeed, PPE are being provided to the workers of all the organizations associated with frontline work,” he said, and confirmed that immediate action is taken in case of any complaint.

Punjab health authorities on Saturday reported 74 new cases of the novel COVID-19, taking the provincial tally of the coronavirus cases to 2,410.
According to a statement issued by spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, 74 new cases were reported today of them, 701 were detected among pilgrims at quarantine centres, while 747 among members of Tableeghi Jamaat.
