KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has said that only social distancing can help in curbing the spread of coronavirus.
The chief minister urged the citizens to stay at home as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus, which has claimed 64 lives in the country.
Murad Ali Shah said that recently, a family of seven members has tested positive for the coronavirus. The chief minister advised the people to keep social distance while receiving the ration and aid to keep their families safe.
According to details, the affected family lives in Karachi. One member of the family had caused the transmission of the virus to others. The affected members included a one-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl.
Murad Ali Shah earlier said that the cooperation of public was essential during the lockdown. The statement came during the 31st meeting of the coronavirus task force.
He chaired the meeting and said that the provincial government was focusing on the health system during the lockdown. He was briefed on the situation of coronavirus in Sindh during the meeting and the steps that were taken to contain the outbreak of coronavirus.
The Chief Minister was informed that so far, a total of 469 cases have been reported in the province, out of which 265 are in Sukkur, 189 in Karachi, 1 in Dadu, 7 in Larkana and 7 in Hyderabad.
