HYDERABAD: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Adeel Hussain Chandio on Wednesday night paid a surprise visits to different areas of Hyderabad and reviewed implementation of provincial government’s lockdown orders during Shab-e-Baraat.
According to the police spokesman, SSP Adeel Chandio visited different graveyards, mosques and inspected arrangements made for implementing government’s lockdown orders during the night.
On the occasion, the SSP instructed all concerned police officials, including SHOs, to make sure strict implementation on government orders.
The senior police official also urged citizens to offer prayers at their homes to assist government in the fight against COVID-19.
The SSP said the government had taken decision to observe lockdown to stop covid-19 spread in the province as it was a global pandemic which had claimed thousands of lives in the across the world.
Shab-e-Barat (the night of forgiveness) is being observed across the country with religious fervor and solemnity.
The religious figures have asked people to offer special prayers (Nawafil and Shabina) during the whole night at their homes to restrain the spread of the deadly COVID-19.
Government and Auqaf department have already notified preventing citizens to attend joint prayers in mosques to stop the spread of the disease.
Leading Ulema had already issued a religious decree asking citizens to avoid going to mosques for prayers.
