KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said the provincial lockdown restrictions will be relaxed on April 14.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ghani said that the restrictions under the COVID-19 lockdown will be relaxed after April 14 so that some sectors will be provided conditional acquiescence to continue their operations.
However, he said people must continue to f0llow the lockdown rules as per the law until the aforementioned day, adding that “People should cooperate with the government and not violate the lockdown.”
Earlier on April 3, the Government of Sindh had extended the lockdown till 14th April, issuing a set of new orders and guidelines to encourage social distancing and restrain the COVID-19 from spreading in the province.
According to the notification, all schools, colleges, universities, madressahs and tuition centres were to remain closed till 14 April.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has confirmed that 16 more patients have recovered from the coronavirus in Karachi on Tuesday.
Charing a meeting in Karachi today, the CM Murad said that as many as 309 patients have recovered from coronavirus so far. CM added that 54 new cases of COVID-19 were registered today, taking the provincial tally to 986.
As many 16 of the deceased were from the metropolis and two deaths were reported from Hyderabad. A total 662 people are under treatment in the different hospitals in the province, CM Murad added.
The chief minister further said that one more patient has died from the COVID-19 today, while overall 10219 coronavirus tests had been carried out in the province thus far.
