ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday reiterated his support to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and offered condolences over the loss of precious lives due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation with Turkesh President Recep Tayyip Erdogan where both leaders agreed to extend cooperation in dealing with the coronavirus epidemic.
During the conversation, the two leaders have agreed to work together and reinforce each other’s efforts in the fight against novel COVID-19.
PM also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and solidarity with Turkey and admired Ankara’s efforts to control the coronavirus outbreak.
The Prime Minister also thanked Turkish President for facilitating stranded Pakistanis in the aftermath of discontinuation of flight operations.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Turkey have crossed 30,000 with over 600 deaths.
According to Turkish media, a total of 1,326 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, while 1,415 patients are currently under intensive care units (ICUs) in the country.
While, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan have risen to 4,007 with 55 deaths.
More than 1.3 million cases have now been confirmed across the world with more than 75,000 reported deaths due to COVID-19.
