KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has risen to 3,864 on Tuesday after new cases were reported in the country.
According to government data, 1,918 coronavirus cases were registered in Punjab, 932 in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 500, Balochistan 202, Gilgit-Baltistan 211, Islamabad 82 and Azad Kashmir 16.
As many as 54 people have died of COVID-19 since its outbreak in the country, which includes 17 in Sindh, 15 in Punjab, KP 17, Balochistan 01, and 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, 429 people have recovered, while 1285 coronavirus patients were hospitalized and 17 of them are in serious condition.
The authorities have also increased the testing facilities and a total of 35,875 tests have so far been conducted. Isolation facilities have been set up in 462 hospitals in different areas of the country.
According to media reports, more than 1,347,235 COVID-19 cases of the virus have been registered in 200 countries. The virus has claimed more than 74,767 lives globally so far.
