KARACHI: As coronavirus lockdown in the Sindh province entered its 14th day on Sunday, the provincial police have arrested 100 people and registered 27 cases against the violators.
According to details, during the entire period of lockdown, overall 3470 people had been arrested and 1047 cases registered against them.
Those were arrested in Karachi today, include 3 people from the South zone, 21 from East zone of the city. A total 12 FIRs were registered against the arrested people.
The police authorities said adding that 02 people were arrested in Hyderabad, 01 in Mirpurkhas, 28 from Sukkur and 45 violators were arrested from Larkana. A total 27 cases were registered against them in Sindh during the 24 hours.
According to a Sindh home department notification, the lockdown was enforced in the province, a complete ban was imposed on public movement, social and religious gatherings across the province under Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014 in view of the increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
“The violation of the government orders will be considered as an offence punishable under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal code as provided under Section 4 of the said Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014”, the notification read.
