KARACHI: One more patient died from COVID-19 in Sindh on late Friday, taking the provincial toll to 14.
Sindh Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho confirmed the 54-year-old patient died in Hyderabad.
She said the man had tested positive for coronavirus today and was infected through local transmission.The patient had a neurological disorder, she added. The total number of coronavirus deaths in the province has risen to 14.
It is pertient to mention here that two new deaths from novel coronavirus were reported in the metropolis earlier today.
The minister said that both patients tested positive on April 1st and had got infected through local transmission. The patients were 82 and 60 years old and had underlying health conditions.
Sindh Health Department in a tweet said, “We can confirm 2 more deaths in Karachi. Both patients were tested positive on 1st April & we cases of local transmission. They also had underlying health conditions”.

Pakistan has reported 36 deaths from novel COVID-19, while the total number of confirmed cases has jumped to 2,458.
At least 928 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Punjab, 783 in Sindh, 311 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 190 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 169 in Balochistan, 68 in Islamabad and Azad Kashmir, 09. So far, 130 patients have recovered in Pakistan while 10 are in critical condition.
The number of officially confirmed fatalities from the novel coronavirus jumped to 52,000 across the world on Friday.
More than one million declared cases have been reported in 200 countries and territories since the epidemic first emerged in China in 2019. Of these cases, at least 182,700 are now considered recovered.
