J.K Rowling – author of Harry Potter – has launched a new website, Harry Potter at Home, in order to help the families confined to their homes amid coronavirus pandemic.
J.K Rowling took to Twitter and said, “Parents, teachers, and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic.”
She further said, “So, I am delighted to launch Harry Potter at home.” The online initiative features child-friendly activities, videos, puzzles, illustrations, quizzes, creative ideas, articles and much more for children.

In cooperation with publishers Bloomsbury and Scholastic, the digit hub houses will contribute materials to the Potter web site and to their own web sites.
Meanwhile, J.K Rowling has also partnered with the audio publisher-distributor Audible and the library e-book supplier OverDrive for free audio and digital editions of the first Potter book – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Earlier in March, after the outbreak closed schools worldwide, the author granted an open license for teachers to share videos of themselves onto schools’ secure networks or closed educational platforms reading the Harry Potter book aloud for their students.
So far, coronavirus has claimed lives of more than 5,000 people in the United States and has affected more than 215,000 people.
