ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s focal person for shelter homes Naseem-ur-Rehman has allegedly not provided protective equipment and safety gear at shelters to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
During the launch of a special campaign, the focal person also promised that he would provide a large number of cleaning supplies to seven different shelters. However, it has been learned that both these promises have not been fulfilled despite several assurances.
Rehman also promised that the shelter homes will be provided with 10,000 soaps, 5,000 face masks, a large number of detergents, washing dishing soaps and anti-bacterial sprays along with other pesticides. On the contrary, only nominal items were distributed among the needy.
As per details, only a few dozen items were distributed among Bara Kahu shelter homes in Islamabad for publicity. None of the mentioned items were provided at the shelter homes in Tarnol, Sector I-11 of the federal capital in and in Tarlai Peshawar.
Moreover, it has been reported that the prime minister’s focal person left soon after a photo session to show that formality in the distribution of the safety equipment.
Similarly, no such items were distributed among the other four shelters located in Islamabad. On the other hand, the Capital Development Authority is launching a pesticide sterilization campaign in the city.
