MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the PTI-led federal government was closely monitoring coronavirus situation at National and International level.
The statement came during the meeting to assess the steps taken for the control of coronavirus Pandemic and Insaaf Relief Package in Multan today (Tuesday). The meeting was chaired by FM Qureshi.
The foreign minister further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted two subcommittees and established a cell to assess the situation regarding coronavirus.
FM Qureshi also said that the federal government intends to reschedule its loan from International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The foreign minister further maintained that the government was in contact with the foreign ministers of the European Union, G-77, and G-22 countries.
Referring to Iran, he also said that Pakistan was playing its positive role in the removal of sanctions on Iran as Iran is unable to even purchase ventilators besides having resources.
Coronavirus has claimed lives of almost 26 people and has affected more than 1850 people across the country. Sindh and Punjab remained the worst affected provinces from coronavirus.
