KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi activists on Sunday distributed ration bags among 700 daily earner laborers and needy families in Karachi District South amid coronavirus outbreak.
Food package worth Rs 1500, comprising ten kg flour, five kg rice, two kg sugar, one-litre oil, hand sanitizers and masks were distributed to about 700 underprivileged families.
Talking to media JI activist, Atiq-ur-rehman said that they have identified around 300 families in various areas of the district to supply the ration. He further said that donors should come forward to join hands with them for supporting the needy people during the testing time.
He said that JI has been distributing rations among the deserved people since the coronavirus outbreak. He advised and said it is high time to ask for forgiveness from Almighty and pray to Allah for his mercy.
JI General Secretary District South, Sufyan Dilawar said it is quiet need to support those deserving people who are in high need of financial help. He said under the supervision of JI a fumigation campaign is also continue in the district against coronavirus.
Needy people were asked to contact JI Nazim Raheem Adil’s mobile number 03018248552 for ration. On this occasion, several people hailed the efforts of the JI for providing relief to the poor families during the epidemic crisis.
