KARACHI: 33 new coronavirus cases of local transmission have been reported in Karachi today (Sunday), bringing the provincial tally to 502.
In this regard, media coordinator of Sindh Health Department, Meeran Yousuf, has informed that there are 222 coronavirus cases in the metropolis city, one in Dadu, and seven in Hyderabad.
The media coordinator further said that 265 cases were detected in pilgrims quarantined in Sukkur upon return from Iran. Seven cases have been detected in Larkana.
There are a total of 171 cases of local transmission. The total number of cases in Pakistan has reached 1564. So far 15 deaths have been reported in the country.
Earlier today, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho confirmed that two more citizens have died from the coronavirus in Karachi.
She also said that one of the patients was 83-years-old while the other was 70-years-old adding that both patients had pneumonia and coronavirus.
Globally, coronavirus has claimed lives of more than 32,000 people and has affected more than 686,000 people. However, no vaccine has been developed so far.
