KARACHI:An official of Sindh police deployed at Karachi South Zone, was tested positive for coronavirus.
According to Sindh police spokesman, Inspector, Yaseen Gujjar, aged 49 years, is serving in Investigation South Zone Karachi was tested positive for coronavirus.
The spokesman said Yaseen was taken to Indus Hospital on developing symptoms including fever and cough, where his tests were sent to a lab and he was tested positive.
The spokesman further said that all his family members and colleagues are being monitored. Due care is being taken of affected official in the hospital.
Inspector General of Police Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar has ordered to take all possible steps to screen his contacts and make sure all preventive procedures to safe all police from the diseases.
On Friday, the provincial health department of Sindh has informed that 18 new cases were reported in the province in which 11 were reported in Karachi.
According to the new data, the provincial assumptive of Sindh now stands at 440.
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan surged past 1373 today as new cases were reported in different areas of the country.
