BAHAWALPUR: As many as 18 people who had returned from Iran and were quarantined in Dera Ghazi Khan for fourteen days have now reached Bahawalpur after testing negative on Saturday.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Asif Iqbal Chaudhry said all the 18 pilgrims were tested negative for coronavirus.
He said these 18 people have been instructed to stay in quarantine at their homes for further 14-days. Out of these, seven are from Bahawalpur district, 11 from Rahim Yar Khan district and one from Bahawalnagar district.
Furthermore, four suspected patients of the diseases from Bahawalpur were also tested negative for coronavirus. Three of these people were admitted to Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital and one in Civil Hospital Bahawalpur.
All of these four patients have been discharged from hospitals after testing negative for coronavirus on Saturday.
On Friday, 37 people who had returned from Iran and were quarantined in Dera Ghazi Khan for fourteen days have now reached Multan.
District Commissioner Amir Khattak and other officials had received the pilgrims at Sher Shah Toll plaza on their arrival after they were declared safe and allowed to go back home.
The commissioner told all of them were declared negative in COVID-19 test after spending a fixed time period of fourteen days at the quarantine center.
Amir Khattak said 25 pilgrims belonged to Multan, two are residents of Jalapur Pirwala and ten hailed from Shujabad tehsil.
