KARACHI: The government has banned Friday prayers in mosques across the country, including Karachi, but the city has the freedom to open a superstore that strictly violates Section 144 and has more chances of spreading the disease.
There is a huge rush of people seen at the Imtiaz superstore, including the other stores in the city also that has become an effective means of spreading the coronavirus. Neither the administration of the Superstores has taken any measures to stop the rush, nor is there any interference by the district administration or the Sindh government.
The trolleys that customers use in departmental stores to pass goods are usually affected by the virus as people touch each other while carrying the packaged goods in their hands and placing it in the trolleys. Each person transmits the coronavirus to one another while performing the task.
On the other hand, having hundreds of buyers at one location for several minutes to pay the bills of the goods they had bought can be very risky. Citizens of Karachi and various political, social and religious organizations in this regard, have called for its prevention.
According to the people, Friday prayers of a few hundred people can spread coronavirus, while everyone who goes to the mosque for wudhu, is also exposed to the virus.
Such people are infected and due to their close proximity to each other can cause the spread of coronavirus, the government should take immediate action or otherwise, the Sindh government will be held responsible for the spread of the virus.
