KARACHI: The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan surged past 1300 today (Friday) as new cases were reported in various areas of the country.
According to the provided details by the provincials’ health departments, the number of cases has reached 1,331 as almost 120 new cases were reported in different areas of Pakistan.
Punjab has overtaken Sindh in the number of coronavirus cases as almost 30 new cases were reported in the province. This brings the provincial tally to 448.
Information Adviser Ajmal Wazir has informed that 53 new cases have been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, bringing the provincial tally to 180.
Talking about Sindh, the provincial health department has informed that 18 new cases were reported in the province in which 11 were reported in Karachi. According to the new data, the provincial aggregate of Sindh now stands at 440.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Abdul Salam Afridi revealed that he has been tested positive for the coronavirus. Afridi was elected from the PK-53 Mardan-VI in the 2018 general elections.
Adviser to information in Gilgit Baltistan has informed that the 16 new cases have been confirmed in the region, taking the region’s tally to 103.
