Cricket West Indies (CWI) has offered to host England’s three-match Test series against Pakistan, which is scheduled to be held in July.
The cases of coronavirus have also confirmed in several Caribbean nations but the situation in United Kingdom is currently worst as more than 100 people have died from this deadly disease.
The decision came after the three-match test series between England and West Indies is also under threat due to coronavirus pandemic.
In this regard, Cricket West Indies CEO Jonny Grave said, “I’ve spoken to Tom Harrison – England’s Cricket Board CEO – a couple of times in the last few days and assured him that we will be as flexible, supportive and helpful as possible.”
He further said, “To that end, yes, we have offered to host the series here in the Caribbean if that is deemed helpful. The ECB would retain all commercial and broadcast rights.”
CWI CEO also offered to stage England’s three-test series against Pakistan which is scheduled to begin at Lord’s on July 30.
The series between England and West Indies is scheduled to begin on June 4, 2020, while the tests series between England and Pakistan are scheduled for July 30.
