BEIJING: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that relations between Pakistan and China based on mutual trust and win-win cooperation.
President Alvi’s statement came during the meeting with Premier of China Li Keqiang in Beijing where is on an official two-day visit.
On the occasion, President Alvi conveyed his full support and solidarity with China against the coronavirus outbreak. He said that Pakistan and China are all-weather friends who always stand together with each other.
President Alvi said, “Pakistan and China have shown to the world that they believe in coexistence and non-interference.”
President Alvi also appreciated the effective measures taken by China against the outbreak of the coronavirus.
During the meeting, Premier of China Li Keqiang said that friendship between China and Pakistan has even emerged stronger.
Praising Pakistan’s sympathy towards China, the premier said that after Covid-19 outbreak started in China, PM Imran and the government extended messages of sympathy for the Chinese side and promptly after the outbreak, Pakistan provided medical supplies to China.
He further said China stands ready to closely work with Pakistan and would take joint measures against the coronavirus epidemic.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Pakistan Ambassador to China, Naghmana Hashmi and senior Pakistani and Chinese officials.
