The collapse of world’s sports event over coronavirus fear gathered pace as football showpieces Champions League – European tournament –and English Premier League – Britain tournament – has been suspended.
Matches of English Premier League have been suspended until at least April 3 after five clubs have informed that some players or staff members were in self-isolation.
Arsenal – club of English Premier League – manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi were tested positive for the coronavirus.
On the other hand, European football’s governing body UEFA has postponed all the matches of Champions League and Europa League that were scheduled to take place next week.
Games including Juventus and Real Madrid had already been postponed because the players were quarantined by their club.
Coronavirus has claimed more than 5,000 lives globally and has spread in almost 110 countries. The virus has affected more than 135,000 people worldwide.
