Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice-president Maryam Nawaz has finally broken months-long silence today (Thursday) and said, “I remained silent for past few months due to personal issues.”
Talking to journalists after meeting along with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Maryam Nawaz in Islamabad, Maryam Nawaz said that she could not be threatened or intimidated in backing off from her narrative.
She said, “My resolve to stand by civilian supremacy and Constitution has strengthened, not weakened.”
Maryam Nawaz further said, “My father went abroad for medical treatment and [when he left] his life was in danger. Now he is better than before.”
“I don’t want to cause him pain and do not want him to abandon treatment and return because of me,” she added.
She said that she was under her party’s discipline, adding that whenever her party leadership gave her instructions to come forward and play her role, you will not find me lagging behind.
Maryam Nawaz appeared after almost four-months since she was granted bail from Lahore High Court.
