ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted fresh rain spell in the upper and central parts of Pakistan from Wednesday to Friday.
According to the Met Office report, a strong westerly weather system is expected to enter in Pakistan on Tuesday (today) evening that will cause more rain for two days (Wednesday-Friday).
The weather report said widespread rain and wind or thunderstorm with (snowfall over the hills) is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir under the influence of possible weather system.
From Tuesday evening to Thursday rain and wind-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is also probable in Pishin, Harnai, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung.
However, on Tuesday evening to Wednesday rain and cold weather are also expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Shaheed Benazirabad. The dust storm is also expected in lower Sindh including Karachi during the phase.
The weather department predicted Heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding and landslides in some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir North Balochistan, and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan from Wednesday night to Friday.
PMD has instructed all concerned departments of the country to take precautionary steps during the predicted phase to shun any loss of life or damage to property in said areas.
